Welcome to the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy. WALETA was created in 2007 as a basic training academy for police officers. The goal in creating WALETA was to provide an economical, yet comprehensive basic law enforcement training option for agencies belonging to the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Association.
In the beginning, class sizes hovered around 12 recruits per class. As word of our basic training model spread, law enforcement agencies from all around Arizona started to show an interest in sending their recruits to our police academy. Very quickly class sizes began to double, and we have continued to grow ever since. In addition to growing our police academy classes, we are proud to now offer a public safety communications academy.
Our basic training staff is made up of highly qualified, disciplined, and motivated law enforcement professionals from law enforcement agencies around the state. Each staff member brings a level of expertise, and unique personal experiences to the training environment here at WALETA. We do not take our calling to develop law enforcement professionals lightly.
We look forward to serving your basic law enforcement training needs.
